An award winning designer and artist, Carissa Graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2013, receiving a BA in Fine Art, Communication Design, as well as a minor in Art History. As someone who likes to say busy, Carissa has always been an active member of the design community involving herself in groups like the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), and the Connecticut Art Directors Club (CADC). The first of a growing community of remote-talent to join our team, Carissa Skypes in everyday, participating in creative conversations with clients and colleagues. Getting a chance to meet/Skype with Carissa means you will also get to meet her wonderful and bright assistance dog Murphy!
Although Carissa has only ever had the opportunity to vote in one Presidential Election, she is not new to the world of Politics. At a very young age Carissa learned the importance of being involved in her community and helping others. Through her experience as the former Goodwill Ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s local chapter, as well her affiliations with other non-profit groups, Carissa has had the opportunity to meet several Community leaders and politicians from all over Connecticut.
Last Fall Carissa worked on her first successful Political Campaign from the perspective of a designer. Well versed in a variety of different media and design work, Carissa collaborated on the campaigns Identity as well as the design of their website and marketing collateral design and layout. It was a whirlwind of an experience, but a positive one, and something that Carissa looks forward to doing more of as a member of the Miranda Campaigns team.
